Electricity plays a critical roll in all body functions. Our central nervous system, which controls voluntary body functions, and autonomic nervous system, which controls involuntary body functions, generate billions of electrical signals to control everything from movement to the beat of our heart. On the cellular level every cell has 20 to 40 types of ion channels that help it communicate and function. Neuroscientists found that applying current to the cellular membrane activated and opened the electrically-sensitive ion channels, enhancing nutrient intake and waste product departure; thus, transforming a cell from a degenerative state to a regenerative state in a matter of seconds. In simple language, Equiscope Therapy reprograms the electricity in our body.
Many who are just now learning about Equiscope Therapy assume it’s a new technology. The truth is professional sports players, Olympians, top golfers, and other elite athletes have used this therapy for years. It’s similar in concept to acupuncture, but physicians have observed better, longer lasting results.
How Does It Work?
The Equiscope uses intelligent, focused microcurrent to autocorrect abnormal electrical patterns in nerve and connective tissue. This therapy creates an optimal healing environment–increasing circulation, decreasing inflammation and relieving your pain.
What to Expect
You can expect to experience decreased pain, increased flexibility and often an improved sense of well-being. These benefits can often be attained within 3 to 6 sessions, although chronic conditions may require additional sessions.
- Improvement in objective and subjective parameters – including range of motion, strength, and reduction of pain within 3 to 6 sessions
- Improvement in chronic degenerative conditions (irreversible by other standards)
- Approximately 80 to 90% of patients will show significant improvement in pain relief and/or improved function with the first session
- Usually, the duration of improvement will be cumulative, nearly doubling with each subsequent session once initial pain threshold has been overcome
In April of 2015, 38-year-old Caroline Taylor stopped her car at a red light and was rear-ended by another driver. The resulting injuries included chronic neck pain from whiplash.
Caroline underwent physical therapy, Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (aka TENS Units), epidural injections and trigger point injections as part of her recovery process, but nothing produced results that have been as successful as electrode therapy from Dr. Gephardt at Nevada Pain Care.
Though she was initially a bit skeptical, having never heard of the treatment before, Caroline said, “I was desperate for something to fix me, and I was willing to try anything.”
Before trying the therapy, she said, she hadn’t had a single moment of pure relief.
“Before (electrode therapy) I hadn’t had a pain-free moment since the accident,” she says. “After the first few sessions, I started to have a few hours that were pain-free. It was an unbelievable feeling.”
Caroline has undergone about 10 treatments so far, and she plans to keep it up. Her painful condition is a work in progress, but she remains hopeful that she will make a full recovery.
“I do believe this therapy works. I hope to be able to say I am cured eventually.”
She adds that the staff at Nevada Pain Care has been a delight to work with. “The care that both Dr. Gephardt and his wife have given me has been amazing. I came to Dr. Gephardt desperate for help and hoping he had the answer. My previous doctors really didn’t listen to my concerns or give me any options for treatment except medications or injections. Even though I’m still undergoing treatment, I have hope now that I will be able to heal.”
